Construction Dumpster Rental in Dothan, AL Job-Site Roll-Offs for Builders, Remodelers and Trades

A late dumpster stalls a crew. We set roll-offs where your crew can use them, swap them when you text, and size heavy debris by weight so nobody’s stuck mid-job. New builds, remodels, demo and everything in between.

  • 10 to 40 yard roll-offs
  • Swaps by text
  • Multiple job sites

Quick answer

Most Dothan job sites run a 20- or 30-yard roll-off for remodels and a 30- or 40-yard for new construction, with swaps as it fills. Heavy debris like concrete, brick and tile goes in a 10-yard. Mixed construction and demolition (C&D) debris goes to a permitted C&D landfill, not the city landfill, which is closed to the public.

Who uses our construction dumpsters?

General contractors and builders

New homes and additions: framing scraps, packaging, drywall offcuts and job-site trash over weeks or months.

Remodelers

Kitchen and bath gut jobs, flooring, cabinets and interior demo. Often tight driveways and occupied homes.

Roofers

Tear-offs where weight matters more than volume. See roofing dumpster rental.

House flippers and investors

Demo day through final punch list, with quick turnarounds between projects.

Demolition crews

Sheds, garages, porches, decks and interior tear-outs. Heavy material gets sized separately.

Specialty trades

Fence crews, flooring installers, painters, siding and window crews who need a container for a few days.

What size construction dumpster do I need?

Size job-site containers by debris type and job length, not just the total pile.

Job typeUsual sizeNotes
Interior remodel (kitchen, bath, flooring)15 to 20 yardTile and plaster are heavy; mention them
Roof tear-off20 yardPlan a swap for multi-layer roofs
Small structure demo (shed, garage, deck)20 to 30 yardSeparate concrete slabs into a 10-yard
New single-family construction30 to 40 yardExpect swaps at framing, drywall and trim-out
Commercial build-out or tenant turnover30 to 40 yardBulky but light: ceiling tile, carpet, fixtures
Concrete, brick, block or dirt10 yardMay need to be filled only partway
Fence replacement15 to 20 yardPosts with concrete footings are heavy

See the dumpster size guide for typical dimensions. For long jobs, a smaller container with scheduled swaps often beats one huge box taking up the site.

How we keep job-site debris from slowing you down

Swaps by text

Text when it’s full. We pull the full container and drop an empty one so the crew keeps working.

More than one dumpster

Separate containers for different job sites, phases or debris types, like a 10-yard for concrete next to a 30 for everything else.

Placed for the job

As close to the work as the truck can safely reach: by the roofline, the back door or the demo area.

Scheduled around your phases

Delivered before tear-off or demo day and picked up when you call, not on a fixed clock.

Heavy debris planning

Shingles, tile and concrete sized by weight up front, so the container can actually be hauled.

Clear rules up front

Your crew knows what can and can’t go in before the first load, so nothing gets sent back.

Where does construction debris go in Dothan?

Construction and demolition debris doesn’t go to the City of Dothan landfill, which is closed to the public. It goes to permitted C&D landfills in the area:

  • Omussee C&D Landfill on Kinsey Road in Dothan (36303)
  • Rosehill Landfill on New Hope Road in Midland City, which lists construction and demolition debris, rubbish, leaves, limbs and shredded or quartered tires among accepted materials
  • Coffee County Landfill in Elba for household waste, C&D and recycling

With a dumpster rental, you don’t have to sort out which site takes what. We haul the load and take it to the right facility for what’s inside. Details are in our Dothan landfill guide.

What can’t go in a construction dumpster?

  • Paint, stains, solvents and other liquids
  • Motor oil, fuel and hydraulic fluid
  • Batteries and propane tanks
  • Whole tires
  • Asbestos-containing material (needs special handling and an appointment-only disposal process)
  • Refrigerant appliances, unless cleared first

Heavy debris: concrete, brick, block, dirt and tile have weight limits. Tell us when they’re part of the job so we can size for them.

Fill line: nothing above the top rim. Long boards and pipe need to lie flat inside.

Job-site placement and permits

  • Access: the truck needs about 60 feet of straight-line space to back in and about 23 feet of overhead clearance from limbs and power lines.
  • Ground: new lots and Wiregrass clay get soft after rain. A firm, level spot keeps the truck from getting stuck and the container from sinking.
  • On private property: a permit generally isn’t needed.
  • In the street or right-of-way: check with the City of Dothan before placement. Right-of-way placement is handled through the city’s Street Division.
  • Outside city limits: in Headland, Ozark, Enterprise or the county, check with that town or county if the container can’t go on private property.

What to tell us when you order

  • Job address and the best spot for the container
  • Start date and how long the job should run
  • What’s coming out: drywall, framing, shingles, concrete or mixed
  • For roofs: number of squares and layers
  • Gates, slopes, low limbs or power lines near the drop spot
  • Who on the crew will call or text for swaps and pickup

Yes, but it needs the right container, usually a 10-yard, and may need to be filled only partway because of weight. Don’t mix it into a large container of general debris.

Not if it sits on private property. If it needs to go in the street or public right-of-way, check with the City of Dothan first.

Keep the Crew Moving

Get the container on site before demo day, not after.

  • A full dumpster stops work. Plan swaps before you need them.
  • Heavy debris needs its own plan. Concrete and tile change the container.
  • Placement matters. Close to the work saves hours of wheelbarrow trips.
  • Call or text to book
  • Straight answers before delivery
  • Extensions and swaps on request

Tell us the job, the dates and the debris, and Longleaf Dumpster Dothan will have a container on site. Call or text (334) 555-0142.
